In September 2004 Adrian Charlton of AW Communications Systems Ltd approached Axtan with a request for an Internet based
device that could be used to replace 4 wire EPS-8 or EPS-9 lines with lower cost ADSL lines. |

The project was underatken as a joint venture, with Axtan maintaining the IPR for the firmware whilst
AWCSL hold the IPR for the hardware design. In October 2006 the Federation of Communication Services awarded AWCSL its prestigious, Gerald David OBE Award for innovation in Business Radio for the TRip unit control solution. The award was founded in 2005, in memory of Gerald David OBE who championed the business radio sector, in order to find the company that has the most innovative product or service in business radio. |
